There are so many ways to get involved at the food bank. From working in the warehouse to working in a garden or farm field, we offer many rewarding ways for INDIVIDUALS and GROUPS to get involved in the work of the food bank.

First step in becoming a volunteer is to complete our application form. Click Here to download our VolunteerApplication  Please use this form for either INDIVIDUAL or GROUP signups to volunteer (a.k.a companies/youth groups please just one form.)

 

Community Service Volunteers - Please note that all Community Service Volunteers need to be interviewed BEFORE they volunteer.  Please fill out the below application and then call the office to schedule an interview. 610-873-6000. CommunityServiceApplication

 

All volunteers should be at least 5 years of age; minors should be accompanied by an adult. The Food Bank staff will use your application information to match you or your group with the right volunteer opportunity.

TUESDAY Volunteer Night -  Held every Tuesday from 6-8pm, individuals, families and groups are welcome to attend our volunteer night. All are welcome: service organizations, school groups, private companies, and individuals. Volunteers will help with the following jobs:

  • Unpacking stacks of canned goods, sorting them for delivery to local pantries.
  • Preparing food in the kitchen, making soup, dehydrating fruits and vegetables and other duties.
  • Assembling food for our Weekend Food Backpacks Program.
  • Packing Commodities Supplemental Food Program boxes for Senior Citizens.
  • Assembling food for our Senior Box and Emergency Food Programs
  • Office work of printing nutritional flyers, box labels, data entry.

You need to bring a Volunteer Application to your first day/night of volunteering.

Community Service Volunteers - Below is the application to become a volunteer in order to meet your community service hours. Please note that all Community Service Volunteers need to be interviewed BEFORE the volunteer; we ask that you not sign up for a Tuesday Volunteer night prior to receiving an interview.

As a Community Service Volunteers, you should be willing/able to do the following jobs:

  • Move and package nonperishables in the warehouse.
  • Prepare, process, and help with fresh produce in the commercial kitchen.
  • Enter data and answer phones in the office.
  • Be able and willing to visit local food kitchens, cupboards, farms, and businesses.
  • Show compassion for hunger relief on and off the job.
  • Provide own means of transportation.
