Volunteers

We offer many rewarding ways for individuals and groups to get involved in the work of the Food Bank. Here are some of the jobs for our volunteers:

• Warehouse – packing and unpacking nonperishables
• Food Mover  - transporting nonperishables
• Garden  - working to build Raised Beds
• Harvesting  - working on a local farm
• Kitchen  - cooking, cleaning, etc.
• Food Cupboard  - help at a local food cupboard
• Office  - answering phones, data entry

All volunteers should be at least 5 years of age; minors should be accompanied by an adult. Please wear appropriate attire when you volunteer; closed toe shoes and comfortable clothes that may get dirty.

The Food Bank staff will use your application information to match you/your group with the right volunteer opportunity. We have three categories of volunteers and an application form for each. Please complete and return one of the applications below:

Tuesday Volunteer Night

Every Tuesday from 6-8pm, we have a volunteer night at the Food Bank Warehouse.  Volunteers will help us with the following jobs:

• Unpacking stacks of canned goods, sorting them for delivery to local pantries.
• Preparing food in the kitchen, making soup, dehydrating fruits and vegetables and other duties.
• Assembling food for our Weekend Food Backpacks Program.
• Packing Commodity Supplemental Food Program boxes for Senior Citizens.
• Assembling food for our Senior Box and Emergency Food Programs
• Office work of printing nutritional flyers, box labels, data entry.

How to Sign Up for Volunteer Night

So that we can manage the number of people on site for Volunteer Night, we ask that you follow these instructions to sign up specifically for a Tuesday Night:

Individuals & Families –  Please use our form on Sign-up Genius to volunteer on a specific Tuesday Night. www.SignUpGenius.com/go/20F0A44ADAC2CA64-tuesday/493412  Families using this form should use one name for the family and provide the number of family members volunteering. So that all volunteers get an opportunity to attend, we ask you to only sign up once every five weeks.

Groups - If your group/company would like to sign up for a Tuesday Volunteer Night, simply call Ally Antonini to schedule your date: 610-873-6000

Court Order Community Service Volunteers - Once you have interviewed with Ally, you many use the Sign-Up Genius link above to select a specific Tuesday Volunteer Night.

Please make sure you have completed one of the Volunteer Applications prior to signing up for our Tuesday Volunteer night.
