Harvesting Fresh Produce

Gleaning is the act of collecting leftover crops from farmers’ fields after they have been commercially harvested. We partner with 36 farms throughout the county to glean fresh fruits and vegetables.

With the help of 1,700 volunteers, we grow and harvest at six Chester County farms that donate a portion of their land. The 500,000 pounds of harvested food is distributed to the over 90 food cupboards and meal sites in the county who directly help feed the more that 70,000 hungry in our county.
