Chester County Food Bank (CCFB) manages several field sites in central Chester County, Pa. CCFB also manages two greenhouses, providing approximately 180,000 seedlings for our Raised Bed Garden Program and farm partners. In 2017, CCFB grew approximately 160,000 pounds of mixed vegetables. Our produce is distributed to affiliated food relief agencies and our mobile market truck. A portion is processed in our commercial kitchen, and/or utilized by our nutrition education program.
The Field Manager works with and reports to the Agriculture Program Director in day to day field operations and greenhouse production. S/He works collaboratively with farm partners to assess needs, meet labor demands, and ensure the successful production of various crops. Raised Bed Garden Intern
The raised bed garden intern will work on-site at various garden sites throughout Chester County and at our main office in Exton. The focus of this internship will be to critically analyze the participation of residents at our community garden Fairview Village in Phoenixville and reimagine how the Food Bank could engage this community using best practices to inspire activity in the garden for years to come.

Students are encouraged to apply for listed internship opportunities as well as for opportunities that may not, as of yet, be listed on our website. To apply, submit a letter of interest to the department manager, specifying the goals of your school’s field experience program, and/or your own personal goals. College representatives may also contact us on behalf of students involved in educational programs that require field experience.
Internship projects are unpaid and provide an educational experience for a college student under the mentorship of a Food Bank manager and sponsoring educational institution.
