Looking for a fun and educational outing? Visit Chester County Food Bank’s farm and garden operations at the beautiful Springton Manor Farm in Glenmoore. This is your chance to experience firsthand the deep agricultural roots that have shaped Chester County and continue to drive our mission today.
Chester County has long been a cornerstone of Pennsylvania’s rich agricultural heritage, ranking second among the state’s 67 counties and 53rd in the entire country for the value of agricultural products sold. When the Chester County Food Bank began in 2009, we knew we wanted to honor and build upon this legacy by committing ourselves to improving access to fresh, nutritious food for our neighbors facing food insecurity. Our farm and garden operations are at the heart of this commitment.
Join us on Thursday, August 29 from 4:30pm – 6:30pm for an open house style gathering to meet our dedicated farmers and volunteers who work tirelessly to grow the nutritious produce that supports our community.

Our farm operations not only provide access to nutritious and familiar food, but they also serve as a vital educational resource for our community,” says Kale Doughty, Community Food Access Education Manager. “We’re excited to open the gate to the farm and share this experience with you.”
During your visit, you’ll be able to take a guided tour through the fields to see our crops in action and learn more about the farming techniques we use to maximize yields while caring for the environment.
Explore the Demonstration Garden and gather valuable tips and tricks for your home garden. You’ll also get a sneak peek into our greenhouse and high tunnel, where we nurture seedlings and extend our growing season.
By the end of your visit, you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for Chester County’s agricultural heritage and Chester County Food Bank’s mission to mobilize and educate the community to ensure equitable access to nutritious and familiar food.
