Field Manager

The Field Manager works with the Food Access and Education team and reports to the Director of Food Access and Education. This role is responsible for day-to-day field operations, greenhouse production, crop planning and maintenance. This role is the primary liaison with farm partners for growing and gleaning to meet the needs of the food bank. This position will provide supervision and management of the CCFB volunteers and seasonal staff to achieve high levels of productivity, community engagement, and relationship building.

Field Assistant

The Field Assistant works with and reports to the Field Manager on day-to-day field operations and greenhouse production. They will work collaboratively with the Field Manager to assess needs, meet labor demands, and ensure the successful production of various crops. This position provides an excellent opportunity to deepen knowledge, skills, and experience in diversified vegetable production.

Workforce Development Associate

The Workforce Development Associate’s primary focus is on student recruitment and retention, self-empowerment, job readiness training, career placement support, and monitoring. This position assists constituents with resource development and provides social services referral support throughout the program and post-graduation for 2 years as needed. This position also works with individuals in the community to secure services and assist with various programs implemented by the Chester County Food Bank. This position also develops relationships with key community organizations to foster opportunities for collaboration. tracks all data and is responsible for reporting and maintenance of files pertaining to student activity and ensuring that accurate information is available to CCFB.

Community Resource Associate

The Community Resource Associate (CRA) works with various Food Bank teams to increase access to healthy food for our neighbors. This position will work in the community to help improve the environments of the food pantries and cupboards to ensure a choice model. Assist with various administrative duties involved in compliance and assist with training volunteers to collect necessary data. In addition, the CRA will assist with Food Access and Education through the mobile market and help with outreach activities. This position is based at the Chester County Food Bank in Exton with the expectation that time will be spent in the community providing support and outreach.

Internship Opportunities

Looking for field experience as part of your educational program for college? Students are encouraged to apply for listed internship opportunities as well as for opportunities that may not, as of yet, be listed on our website.  College representatives may also contact us on behalf of students involved in educational programs that require field experience. To apply, please fill out our Online Internship Application Form and a staff member will be in touch. You may also submit a letter of interest to the department manager, specifying the goals of your school’s field experience program, and/or your own personal goals. 

Internship projects are unpaid and provide an educational experience for a college student under the mentorship of a Food Bank manager and sponsoring educational institution.
