Give Your Time to Volunteering

Volunteer your time, individually or as a group, to help feed neighbors in need.
Giving is your opportunity to be a part of making a difference in our community. From individuals to corporations, each person and every volunteer hour makes an impact on our mission. Whether you want to dig in at one of our partnering farms or gardens, be hands-on in our commercial kitchen or warehouse, or assist the office team, we’d love to have you or your group volunteer with us! Volunteer opportunities are available year-round; however, our need does vary based on season, weather, inventory, and program schedules.
Health & Safety Guidelines
The well-being of our volunteers and community is a top priority. While we no longer require vaccinations for volunteers, we strongly advocate that volunteers receive their vaccinations and boosters as recommended by the CDC. We ask that volunteers self-screen before their scheduled shifts. If you are feeling unwell for any reason, please stay home and cancel your volunteer shift. Your health, and the health of those around you, is important to us, and staying home when ill helps ensure a safe environment for all. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to keeping our community healthy.
How would you like to volunteer?
Color Some Kindness
What started as a volunteer opportunity for children and families has blossomed into a unique way for anyone to send a caring word, spread goodwill, and connect with neighbors experiencing some challenges. Through our Color Some Kindness program, volunteers decorate boxes with colorful, heartfelt messages, bringing warmth and smiles to the seniors who receive our Grocery Boxes each month.
Given the program’s popularity and to ensure timely and cost-effective participation, we’ve restructured the Color Some Kindness options for participation. We are now offering both an onsite volunteer opportunity at CCFB and an opportunity for our Kindness Crew to come to you! Whether onsite at CCFB or hosted at your location, the Kindness Crew will guide your group in creating heartfelt boxes and share the impact CCFB has in our community. Kindness Crew volunteers, many of whom are retired teachers, have the background clearances to work with children. (Documentation available upon request.)
If you’d like to Color Some Kindness with your group, please complete our request form. Due to high demand, we ask that requests be submitted at least four weeks in advance. While evening and weekend times are available, they’re offered on a limited basis.
This is a wonderful service activity for all ages, especially for younger children under our volunteer minimum of 16 years of age. With nearly 800 boxes packed each month, we have plenty of room for your colorful contributions! Additionally, consider hosting a food drive or virtual food drive alongside your Color Some Kindness or making a donation to support programs like our Grocery Boxes for Seniors.
