CCFB News – April 2026
CCFB Celebrates Our Volunteers this Volunteer Appreciation Month

April is National Volunteer Month! This month and all throughout the year, we are so grateful to the enthusiastic community of local and corporate volunteers who give their time and talents in service to our neighbors facing food insecurity.
From planting at our partnering farms and gardens, to being ambassadors at community events, to working hands-on in our community kitchen and warehouse, and even assisting our office team, each and every one of our volunteers makes CCFB more successful in our mission to ensure access to nutritious and familiar food, and we could not do what we do at CCFB without their hard work and dedication.
Thank you, volunteers!💚

CCFB Volunteer Ken Owens Achieves 2,000 Volunteer Hours
We are honored to announce that our dedicated volunteer Ken Owens has achieved 2,000 volunteer hours at the Chester County Food Bank!
Volunteering with us since 2019, Ken has offered his time and talents across many crucial tasks at the food bank including assembling prepared meals, aiding us with emergency food deliveries, packing sunshine meals, and helping us pack our senior boxes and backpack bags.
We are so grateful for the time and care Ken has given CCFB over the years, and his dedication to helping Chester County neighbors facing food insecurity inspires us every day. Thank you, Ken!!!
Congratulations to Our Volunteers Who Recently Reached Milestone Volunteer Hours!

We are exceedingly proud to highlight our tremendous volunteers who have recently reached milestone volunteer hours! From 50 hours to 2,000 hours, our volunteers’ dedication to our mission and willingness to serve our neighbors facing food insecurity shows us just how powerful kindness can be. Thank you, volunteers, for always sharing your time and talents with us, and congratulations on such an inspiring achievement!
Thank You to Our Corporate Volunteers!
In 2025, our corporate volunteers made a massive impact! Giving us 9,000 hours of their time and talents in our warehouse, commercial kitchen, and out at our farms and gardens, these businesses showed us what it means to care for their community. Thank you to all our corporate volunteers for your endless support of our mission to ensure access to nutritious and familiar food to Chester County neighbors facing food insecurity! We could not do what we do without you!

CCFB Gives Thanks at Our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Brunch

This year and every year, we were honored to celebrate our incredible volunteers at our annual volunteer appreciation brunch. Hosted in our warehouse, volunteers are given the celebrity treatment, with a tasty meal, speeches of appreciation from CCFB staff members, and a showing of a volunteer appreciation video specially made by CCFB staff members.
We are so grateful to our volunteers, and we are so happy to have had so many of them join us in our celebration of all that they do for CCFB and for our neighbors facing food insecurity.
Introducing Our Newest CCFB Team Member!
Hi! My Name is Nadirah, and I’m thrilled to join CCFB as the Executive Assistant.
I previously worked in both a private and public sectors, most recently I supported the Chief Marketing Officer at Bentley Systems.
I also have the honor to be a part of the current Leadership Chester County United Way cohort, where I am learning how to both support and join a board. I look forward to getting a deeper appreciation for everything it takes to uphold a mission like that of CCFB.
A little bit more about me: I am a lifelong learner, I’ve taught myself electrical, knitting, and am convinced I can build/fix just about anything, and I’m also a book collector, owning over 800 books!
Welcome to our team, Nadirah! 💚
