CCFB News – May 2026

Dylan Houck’s Annual Helping Hands Food Drive Returns!

We are so grateful to longtime CCFB donor and friend Dylan Houck for continuing his generous annual collection and donation of food items to CCFB. This year, Dylan delivered an impressive 21,086 pounds of donated food to help serve Chester County neighbors facing food insecurity.

Beginning his annual Helping Hunger Food Drive at the age of four, Dylan, now fifteen, has dedicated the last eleven years to collecting tens of thousands of pounds of much-needed food with the help of his family and friends, and in partnership with Keller Williams Real Estate of Exton.

Since his first food drive in 2015, Dylan has donated over 75,000 pounds of food to the Chester County Food Bank.

We are in awe of Dylan’s determination to his continued mission to help CCFB serve Chester County neighbors facing food insecurity. Amazing work, Dylan!

A Snapshot of Our Growing Season

Our Agriculture team is booked and busy at our farms, gardens, and greenhouse preparing for the first week of our Fresh2You Mobile Market season and our Eat Fresh Cooking Classes in June.

Recently, our team has been planting swiss chard, beets, scallions, cilantro, and we are on our way to getting tomatillos and peppers planted. Looking forward, our Garden Program is about to get our second round of plants–with summer crops such as tomatoes, peppers, celery, basil, papalo, and more!

Through the hard work of our Agriculture team and volunteers paired with the amazing partnerships we have with our many local garden partners, Springton Manor Farm in Glenmoore, and Two Gander Farm in Downingtown, CCFB is able to grow around 50,000 pounds of vegetables seasonally across 3 acres.

We are so grateful to all who help us make our Farms & Gardens program thrive and help us ensure access to nutritious and familiar food across Chester County.
