As Costs Continue to Rise, So Does Demand for Prepared Meals

With the current inflated costs, especially affecting food, there is a critical demand for prepared meals, particularly for seniors and students out of school for the summer. Our nutritionally balanced “heat and eat” meals provide immediate relief to households struggling under the weight of medical and financial burdens.

The CCFB Community Kitchen prepares upwards of 8,000 meals per month enabling us to alleviate the fears and pressures being faced by our most vulnerable neighbors in need. But we can’t do it alone. As food and fuel costs have gone up, so has the cost of preparing and delivering meals.

Your gift can help provide a solution.

Adapting to demand from the pandemic the Chester County Food Bank expanded its Prepared Meals program to accommodate the increase of individuals being homebound due to health or social distancing restrictions. In addition to our existing Simple Suppers and contract with Meals on Wheels Chester County, we expanded our frozen meal production to offer Sunshine Meals. These meals continue to be a major source of food distribution through our network of 160+ hunger relief partners.

“It’s not easy for me to get out and about, said Carol a Simple Suppers home delivery recipient. “I’m grateful that I can have meals delivered and it’s so nice to have a visitor to look forward to coming.

Help us continue to bring nutritious meals to neighbors like Carol. Your donation today can help us rise to meet the demand and together, we can bring food to our neighbors who struggle with financial uncertainty and don’t have enough to eat.  Consider making an impact throughout the year by joining our monthly donor’s group, Beyond Hunger 365
