Employee Appreciation Day – March 6

On Employee Appreciation Day, and every day, we are exceedingly grateful for the hard work and care our staff puts into serving the Chester County community. Thank you to our incredible team for all you do!

Introducing Our Newest Team Member!

Hello! My name is Megan Dunn-Paul, and I’m thrilled to join CCFB as the new Fundraising Database Associate.

I previously worked as a Labor Economist for the Bureau of Labor Statistics where I analyzed and wrote about our nation’s labor force data, such as the unemployment rate.

Now I’m excited to dive into the data here to help ensure access to nutritious and familiar food for families in Chester County.

A little bit more about me: I spend a lot of time outside with my dog, Murphy, and my chickens; I love trying new foods and visiting new places; and I once road a bike across the Netherlands to see the tulips and windmills.

Welcome to our team, Megan! 💚

Community Partner Spotlight: West Chester Food Cupboard

This month, we’d like to highlight our strong and long‑standing partnership with West Chester Food Cupboard (WCFC)!

Through their mission to “provide a variety of healthy food items to people in need in our community ‘…because no one should go hungry!'”, WCFC served 1,468 households, representing 6,200 individuals in 2024.

CCFB is proud to support WCFC in their mission by distributing 560,635 pounds of food, worth $644,821 to help neighbors facing food insecurity.

Thankful for Our Farmers this National Agriculture Day

March 24 marked National Agriculture Day! Observed for over 40 years, this day champions the abundance of American agriculture and the crucial role it plays in the prosperity and wellbeing of our local communities.

Did you know? Chester County ranks second among all 67 Pennsylvania counties (ranking 53rd of over 3,000 counties in the U.S.) in the total value of agricultural products sold.

The Chester County Food Bank is grateful for the partnerships we have with local Chester County farms that allow us to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to neighbors facing food insecurity.

Thank you, farmers, for all that you do!

Learn How Pennsylvania NAP Tax Credits Can Support Your Business and the Chester County Food Bank

This month, we held a virtual learning session designed for businesses and organizations interested in maximizing their charitable impact while receiving a 65% Pennsylvania tax credit through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP).

This session provided a practical overview of how NAP works, the tax benefits available to participating businesses, and how NAP contributions directly support the Food Bank’s mission to ensure every neighbor in Chester County has access to nutritious, familiar food.

If you are a business owner, or work for a business that may be looking for impactful ways to give back, the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) tax credit is a powerful tool to consider. Participation in NAP has a significant impact on our ability to provide nutritious and familiar food to our neighbors, and we invite you to join an upcoming information session to learn how your business can get involved and make a lasting impact.
