CCFB News – November 2025

Giving Tuesday – December 2, 2025

As you take time this Thanksgiving to enjoy family, food, and rest, we hope you’ll save a little room for something meaningful next week on Giving Tuesday.

This year, the Chester County Food Bank is inviting our community to donate the funds to fill a bag, fill a box, or even fill a cart with food for our neighbors in need.

With nearly 50,000 Chester County residents struggling to put food on the table, including thousands of children and seniors, your Giving Tuesday gift will have a very real, local impact.

Stay tuned for how you can help us reach our $50,000 goal and bring nourishment, hope, and dignity to families across the county.

Happy Thanksgiving from All of Us at CCFB

From our CCFB family to yours, we are wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving!

We are so incredibly thankful for this amazing community and all of your support each and every day as we work to ensure access to nutritious and familiar food across Chester County. Thank you for all of your generosity, kindness, and friendship. We couldn’t do what we do without you.

Meet Our Newest Team Members!

We are thrilled to announce that we have recently welcomed new members to our CCFB team! Introducing Katie Walker, our new Senior Director of Development, Joseph Boyer, SHRM-SCP, our new Director of Human Resources, and Mary Ritter, our new Food Access Field Associate.

Katie Walker brings more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience and a passion for connecting people and purpose to strengthen our community. A longtime Chester County resident, Katie most recently led the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce and is excited to bring her energy and relationship-building skills to help nourish our neighbors. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants, and cheering on Philly sports teams.

Joseph Boyer is a born and raised Chester County native. After over a decade in private industry where he helped to build ground-up HR departments and scale corporate growth he has made a return to Chester County to officially enter the non-profit world from the employee side. Along with his work as Director of HR at the Chester County Food Bank, Joseph also sits on the Board of Trustees for the Ardmore Library in support of his love of reading along with a seat on the Narberth Industrial Development authority. In his free time, Joseph is also an avid traveler and has currently visited 29 countries and 47 states.

Mary Ritter is thrilled to join the CCFB as the Food Access Field Associate, a position that merges her interest in food systems with prior experience growing produce. As an undergraduate at Dickinson College, Mary earned a certificate in food studies and worked on the college’s organic vegetable farm. She is looking forward to working with our farm partners to grow fresh, local produce for our Chester County neighbors. In her free time, Mary enjoys trying new recipes and ingredients, reading, and being outdoors.
