CCFB News – October 2025

We’re Prepared to Support Our Chester County Community

CCFB is committed to supporting our neighbors during this difficult time. With our valued community partners, we will ensure that the needs of our neighbors are met.

If you will be impacted by the potential pause in SNAP payments, the Chester County Food Bank is here to help. Call us at 610-873-6000, email us at Contact@chestercountyfoodbank.org, or use our Food Finder at https://chestercountyfoodbank.org/find-help/food-finder/.

CCFB is expecting a surge in need from our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. We are committed to helping our neighbors during this time. Due to continued support from our community, we can ensure that the needs of our neighbors will be met, but additional support will be needed as we navigate this unprecedented situation.

With increased need expected, we’re asking our community to help us stock the shelves. Food donations are accepted Monday–Friday, 8AM–4:30PM at our Exton location, and monetary donations are always appreciated. To donate: Click Here

CCFB Team Spotlight: Culinary Operations

We love our CCFB staff! This October for our monthly CCFB Team Spotlights, we’re highlighting our incredible Culinary Operations Team!

Led by Senior Director of Culinary Operations & Workforce Development Carey Snow, with support from Production & Training Chef Stephen Mitchell, and Simple Suppers Courier Sherry Zuech, the CCFB’s Culinary Operations team plays a central role in ensuring families, individuals and seniors have the nutritious food they need.

The Culinary Operations team ensures access to nutritious and familiar food throughout Chester County by:

Our Culinary Operations team helps support Chester County residents in need, and we are so grateful for all their efforts to provide nutritious and familiar food across Chester County. Thank you, team!

The Need for Backpack Bags Has Doubled

Here in Chester County, thousands of kids rely on our weekend backpack program which provides nutritious, healthy food for kids so they can focus, play, and just be children.

Year over year, the amount of bags we have had to provide to students facing food insecurity has doubled. Each month, we make 8,000 backpack food packs for Chester County students. Backpack Food Packs are our largest initiative to support children who may not have access to a food pantry. We work with schools, Head Start, and after-school programs to discreetly identify children who need food during the weekend.

With a $100 donation, we would be able to provide 16 Chester County students with a backpack bag of food for their weekend needs. This school year, please help us bring meals and smiles to those who need them most.
