Community Update: Oxford Fire Relief

Late in the evening of Wednesday, September 13, 2023, a devastating fire broke out in an apartment building in downtown Oxford (South Third Street, near Locust St). The fire quickly spread to neighboring buildings, resulting in a significant impact on our community. Thanks to the swift action of Oxford and neighboring fire companies and first responders, loss of life was fortunately avoided.

The Chester County Food Bank is actively engaged in helping our community during this challenging time. In addition to our partner agencies in Oxford, we are in communication with the Red Cross who is leading the primary relief efforts. We have assured our partners that we are here today, tomorrow, and the days ahead to be of assistance.

We know our community is eager to assist, and we want to ensure our efforts are as efficient as possible.

CCFB will be collecting the following items that will be of the most need for the days and weeks ahead:

Donations can be delivered to CCFB: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm. We will also be open Saturday, September 16 from 9am – Noon. (650 Pennsylvania Dr. Exton in the Eagleview Corporate Center)

Let’s come together to support our community and each other. We are committed to being here for Oxford today, tomorrow, and in the days ahead. Thank you for your ongoing support and compassion.
