Garden Dedication Ceremony Celebrates Legacy of Bob McNeil
The Chester County Food Bank came together to celebrate a meaningful moment — the dedication of The Bob McNeil Garden. The raised bed garden, nestled at the entrance of the Food Bank’s Exton Headquarters which were dedicated to Bob in June, was generously donated by The Moran Family in dedication of Bob McNeil, the founding Chairman of CCFB, who died earlier this year.
This garden is representative of the Food Bank’s farm and garden programs, reflecting Bob’s passion for nurturing our agricultural roots. At the heart of the dedication was the unveiling of a bench honoring Bob whose contributions will never be forgotten. The bench, set amidst the garden, serves as a reminder of Bob’s deep connection to both the Food Bank and the people of Chester County.

“Bob always liked to sit and chat,” said Andrea Youndt, CEO of the Chester County Food Bank. “We miss his visits to the Food Bank – he had a way of making everyone feel appreciated as he strolled through, watching the hustle and bustle of the day. He took such pride in our work, in knowing that we were making a difference for the community he cared so deeply about. Having this bench here is more than just a tribute—it’s a chance for us to pause, reflect, and remember him. It’s a reminder of the heart behind our mission, of Bob’s belief in what we do, and his quiet encouragement that we keep going, always with kindness and compassion.”
“Bob and our mom, Betty, were quite the pair,” said Caroline Moran speaking on behalf of the Moran Family. “They had a special friendship – and as much as they joked with each other – they made a significant impact for so many in Chester County. To see everything the Food Bank does today, and to know that both mom and Bob were a part of that, means the world to our family. We couldn’t be prouder to see how this community continues to grow from the seeds they helped plant.”

The Bob McNeil Garden, brought to life through the generosity of The Moran Family, stands as a living symbol of hope, nourishment, and the wholehearted support that has shaped the Food Bank’s mission.
