Protein Foods Needed

The Chester County Food Bank provides critical food to residents in the county struggling with hunger issues. Our unique programs provide food to so many people:

  • 1,000 children monthly, with our Weekend Backpack Program
  • residents who need immediate food, with our Emergency Box Program
  • non-perishable food to stock the shelves at Local Food Cupboards
  • fresh or frozen meat to prepare hot meals at Local Meal Sites/Soup Kitchens

Our supply of canned protein goods are running low, especially the much needed protein items we use for the BackPacks and Emergency Food Boxes. Here is a list of our most needed items:

  1. Peanut Butter (8oz containers)
  2. Canned Meats (ham/tuna/chicken/seafood/spam)
  3. Fresh Meat (venison/ground meat/turkeys/ham/chicken)

Donations are accepted at the Chester County Food Bank warehouse during our hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday - 1208 Horseshoe Pike in Downingtown, PA.  Please call us to learn more. 610-873-6000

Venison Donations

In partnership with Hunters Sharing the Harvestthe Chester County Food Bank has initiated a venison program to provide venison to help feed the hunger in our area.

BUTCHER FEES COVERED - If you donate your deer through one of the butchers listed below, the butcher will process the deer meat into ground venison free of charge to the hunter and on your behalf, donate the meat to the Chester County Food Bank. Venison is a healthy source of protein that will help provide much needed nutrition to the 70,000 people in Chester County that struggle daily to get the food the need. Please contact one of these butchers for more information:
